Permisio in Guatemala
For some reason, Guatemal customs only give a 30 day permisio for vehicles, but immigration happily give a 90 day tourist stamp.
My permisio expires on Tuesday, and as my leg is in plaster, I won`t be leaving the country. Anyone suceeded in getting an extension in the capital?

UPDATE:
Figured out the situation. You get 30 days non extendable permisio for motorbikes. Price varies from 30 to 50 qetzales. To extend you have to leave the country and return either by another border as soon as you like, or wait 72 hours and return through the same border. There is no limit to the number of times you can get a new permision. Over extensions charged at 30Q a day.
This came from a lady in Guatemala City customs. They also valued by beat up KLR650 at $4,300 and quoted an import tax of 4,500 qetzales. (8 qetzales to the dollar)
