Police in Entre Rios, Argentina.
I think that this subject has been aired before but it does no harm to repeat the warning. We have just come up to Puerto Iguazu from San Antonio de Areco and during the 3 days that we were in Entre Rios I was stopped twice by police check points for bogus offences. On the first day I was accused of overtaking a truck on a solid centre line - I couldn't keep up with trucks let alone overtake one! The second time was for allegedly overtaking a car - no mention of solid lines this time - are bikes not allowed to overtake cars. On both occassions my UK insurance certificate was questioned but no action was taken and in the end I was allowed to go on my way with no further action being taken. What did help, I'm sure, was pretending to speak or understand as little spanish as possible - I certainly understood more than I let on.
Anyway, if you don't need to pass through Entre Rios, it might be better to avoid it. I had no further trouble in Corrientes or Missiones.
