If you get a little too close to a certain very "special place" on that island the military gets a little wild especially if you don't have a certain "eco tourism permit" that allows you to camp in the mountains that I didn't have. I think they thought I was a spy and then they took everything I had for a little while...
Lulu on the SteelRat got me talked into going up there on the way to Cartagena, it was a good choice and I was not dissappointed but I missed a lot of the SA season in doing so but I'm not disappointed! He's been many times there with the boat but had never taken a moto up yet so it was interesting for the both of us.
Entering in Cienfeugos is the best leaving out of Santiago is the worst because apparently the customs officiers are very bored and looking for somekind of excitement.
