roads in Brazil?!

Hi,

Did anybody ride the B163 from Cuiaba to Santarem recently?! How is the road, is there Gas and how many days does it take?! I would like to do a boat trib from santarem to belem and go south then but i am not sure if i have enough time - depends on the road conditions i think! How is it going south from Belem to Rio?! Are the "BR" roads preety much paved or is it more muddy?!

happy to here something!!

Saludos,

HENNO

Hi Henno!

From Belem to Rio you can drive all the way on paved roades if you want to! But there are big holes (you can but hole cars in there) in the road from Belem to Sao Luiz if you take that one, so watch out, but not a big deal if you see them all on time!!! That was last year in August or September and i think it did not change a lot!
About the road to Santarem i don´t know, but it is a dirtroad most of the way!
If i hear something i let you know!
You also can check the roadconditions of Brasil on the webside from Quatro Rodas, did not find it yet, maybe somebody else knows it and posts it in here!

All the best Appie

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
