SA for 2012 - Wanna join?
Hi All - I am looking at traveling through SA starting August 2012. Leaving the States through Mexico, Panama to Colombia and down to Patagonia back through Brazil, Suriname, back to Colombia. I'll admit I'm not ready for Darkar (not the best rider in the world) but have the adventurer's heart and speak fluent Spanish and some Portuguese.
Cheers!
BK

Count me in, I had planned on exact time for exact trip ! I just bought a new klr and just finished equipping it for adventure travel. I will be going to Baja next week for a month and then from S.F. in mid April to Florida for last space shuttle launch. I will turn 65 in July 2012 which is why I planned trip to SA after that.(I will then have health insurance in case something bad happens, Medicare H.S. that is. now I am self insuring due to super high premiums).
I will P.M. both of you later !

Glenn,
FYI,
Medicare generally does not cover health services outside the United States.

Sounds good to me have a 1200GS at the moment but will probably change that to an XT660 after the RTW trip

If my current trip- ends prematurely due to bike woes, I might be down for that as well

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
