Well, I`ll be responding to my own mail again...boohoo nobody likes me everybody hates me, I`m off to eat worms.....
I found out from Terrymoto (thanks mate) that I can fly my bike from here in Santiago to Madrid for $700 us.....about 350 quid! Amazing. Lan Chile is the airline, Lan Carga being the Cargo arm that is handling the bike. I`m amazed at the cheapness of this quote. It includes the frieght, AWB, packing, Dang. Goods bill etc - the whole shabang.
How cool is that?!

Will you be having salt and pepper with your worms sir?
Re shipping, it's not that nobody likes you, we do, we really really do it's just that ALL shipments are in the shipments database - link on left "Shipments by Travellers"
WHEN you have completed your shipment please enter into the database for all to see and benefit from - Terrymoto - that includes you!
NOTE - the quote may NOT include Madrid charges despite what they may say, although by air the airport charges are usually minor.

Thanks Grant, I did look in the database and didn´t find a shipment from Santiago to anywhere in Europe.....
Hope you have fun in Derbyshire, I was there last year and spoke at length with Sam M, great guy, really made me believe I could do it.....wish I could be there tomorrow....dont suppose you could delay it for a few weeks until I get home...? Mmmm, thought not.
Good luck

Maybe not Santiago to Europe, but South America to Europe for sure. Will give you an idea who to start with.
I'm not at the Meeting either, Susan is instead. Bummer! I just talked to her and they have around 175 there now, and with 215 registered, should hit over 250 people in total. It's getting to be an awesome event!
How about we put you down for a presentation on your trip for next year?
Good luck with your shipment - figuring it out from scratch is part of the adventure - wouldn't want it to be too easy would we?
No hassles, no problems, no disasters = no adventure, no story, no hero status back home!

Ok, I repent. I posted my shipment to the database along with extended information.
Summary $629 all included to NYC from Chile. You can probably do Chile to Europe for about $718.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
