Let's give luck a real chance....
liam79, HI, I am a membber of the HUBB Buenos Aires community... and just read the responce to DiasDePlaya's question to the Aduana in Valpariso, Chile.
The answer is actually a non answer and you have every right to be confused.
Here is my translation of the response to: Jose Pedro Espinosa
"Someone wrote to me in English, without the identifying data needed so I can respond.
In the first paragraph a question was asked about a motorcycle and the identification of the motorcycle was provided, and then in the second paragraph there was a comment regarding bicycles that had been admitted into Chile in the past.
If you would like, please refer the person who wrote me, without giving a first or last name, to (Servicio Nacional de Aduanas - Go no de Chile) and to consult directly by filling out the proper form with all aduana (customs) documentation that was utilized for the shipment from New Zealand to Chile.
I have no way of obtaining the needed data and therefore cannot help."
Saludos cordiales,
Ana María García
OIRS Aduana Valparaíso
If in the second paragraph of your original letter you did not mention "bicycles," apparently, the aduana is confusing another letter written in English with yours.
If you did mention bicycles, then I suggest you do go to the web page Ana suggested and fill out the form with all aduana data you used for the transport of your motorcycle to Chile.
Keep me posted and good luck
