South America Garmin Compatible Source

After searching numerous weeks for an extremely complete map, I found the next best thing! Which includes Peru, the one I've been missing.
These maps use the Patagonia 4x4 base which I haven't been able to find anywhere.

Enjoy,

Very useful and apparently for free! Have you compared them with the worldmap on the smellybiker.com site?

MAPEAR GPS Community Project and NOT a Garmin product.

As a member of that community I was posting about some time a go. You can read about on: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...-amerika-20602

The maps made by Bob or “Smellybiker” use an old Mapear version for Argentina and others parts of SA, because we let him use. You can use both!!

I had some real trouble finding anything on Peru, the newest Mapear map doesn't include all the detailed roads/rivers as this one. Since I was searching for Peru specifically I must have overlooked those other posts.

Hopefully this will be useful info someone else.

Newest MAPEAR???? In few weeks we will launch the newest V5, but as our project is mainly based in Argentina don’t wait to many details in Perú. Sorry!!!

Maybe better the one from Bob, he is operation base is in Arequipa Perú. And he is working on a new Wanderlust version 2.0.

Saludos

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
