Torres del Paine
Hola,
can anybody tell me which is the best campsite to stay in the Park of Torres del Paine, where you can go by motorbike?
I will be there aproximately at the beginning of next week. Anybody else is going there?
At the moment I hang around in Rio Grande with a cold, Ushuaia was a bit chilly, we had snow one morning there, brrr.
And I`m also checking how to get a new front tyre for my little calf, the DR 350. Everybody tells me something different how to get one and where and I feel too sick and week to decide ...:confused1:

Hi Uschi,
when inside the NP you will come to Lago Pehoe. A characteristic sight is the hotel/lodge on a small island connected to the shore by a long wooden pedestrian bridge. From there it's roughly 2 kms to the camp site further on on the right hand side. Across the lake you will see Paine Grande and the Cuernos. Absolutely stunning! That is, if it isn't raining ;-)
Enjoy!
Hans

Hi Uschi
There is a big camp site not far from the Las Torres Hotel in the Park it has good hot clean showers, there is plenty of room and is safe to leave a bike. I was there a couple of years ago for a week, by the time we left there was 12 bikes there.
From the camp site it is an easy trek up in to the mountains. This is a great place to spend some time enjoy. Skip

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
