traveling north chile- any host-recommendations?

Hey folks,

wohooo we are now about 2 month on the road.
Patagonia lies behind us and we will move on to Chiles North.

Are there any nice hosts up there who welcome bikers?
Would"nt mind if it costs only little money We are open for everything... Camp in the Garden, sleep on the floor.....

Maybe also to have an adress where we could send some spareparts for the bikes we have to order?

anybody who is interested, we have a blog: hrhrhrhr

would be great to get some advice from ya

greetings from las lajas in argentina (at a very nice campground, really worth the visit)

Depends where you mean by north Chile, north of Santiago ? Or are you entering higher up in the Atacama ?

If Santiago, then try Lorraine Chittock.

thanks Bruce,

just looked at the link you sent. Sounds interesting that lady.

We do not really have a fix plan for our route. Just direction north Chile. We are now in Chillan, will head to Valparaiso to catch a tire we left at villa Kunterbunt and then will travel further direction North.
Atacama is one of our plans but altogether we are open for everything.

So, if anyone has tips for a nice route or a possibility to stay or maybe a possiblity to use a garage of somebody that would be great!

thanks, and feliz navidad

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
