Trip planning Colombia Santiago
By everyone I'm planning my trip north from Santiago to Cartagena. Could some riders tell me how many kilometers or miles they did in between? Just trying to get some average figures.
Thanks Fred

Easily obtained from Google
absolute minimum distance 100 h (6,850.5 km) via Ruta 5
Maximum?? Whatever you want it to be. Just in Peru alone you can drive for months up in the andes having fun without driving the same road twice

It depends what do you want...
Few months ago I travel from Arica to Cusco (Machupichu). The tipical route is Arica-Tacna , Tacna - Arequipa (I recommend stay 1 day in there at least), Arequipa - Puno (and visit the floating islands of Uros indian in titikaka lake), Puno-Cusco (start point to visit Machupichu)
From Cusco you can go to the west and travel to Lima near the pacific ocean. Don’t miss Nazca
If you need further info, please contact me

Cartagena to Ushuaia took us about 4 months. We aimed at 250 km per day when we were on the road.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
