Unusual question regarding propane canister
My question may seem unusual but I will be travelling in South America with
my wife and son for almost a year and we like to cook for ourselves most of the time.
Hence the question I have a very small refillable propane tank that has
the standard size of valve and a small two burner stove so I need to know
If I'm going to be able to refill my tank through out south america before
I waste my time and space before hand.
Thanks for any help.!

Thanks for the reply waterfox
Sorry for lack of details.
Yes I am from Canada and the propane cannister is basically the 20 lb
RV propane except it is only 5 lbs and can be refilled at any propane refill station through out north america.
Do you know if there is propane refill in South America and would it match
North America cannisters.
Any help regarding this is great.

Here is some (actually lots!) info on propane and fittings from someone who is currently travelling in South America:

When are you heading south? Not on a moto I assume. My family (4 plus a big dumb dog) head south in a VW van for one year starting this June. (Yikes, that is coming up pretty quick!).

Hi Kevin
My wife son and I will each be riding Suzuki Dr 650 and we will be
leaving when my son is finished high school july 2010 and take 11 months.
Then my wife and I will go from Portugal to China while my son goes to
university.
I like to here when parent's introduce their children to the world of travel.
Have a great time and enjoy every moment of the journey.
Thanks to all for your help.!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
