New Medical insurance needed

Hi all,

I am currently in Australia and my annual medical insurance ended and is only renewable when I return back to the UK.

Does anyone know an insurance company which I can take out when already travelling?
I only need 3 more months...

Cheers,
Frank

I found one. If it helps someone navigatortravel.co.uk is covering people who are already abroad.

Cheers,

If you are down in Oz maybe World Nomads might cover you with a big bike but check that 'cos their UK broker won't. Failing that have a look at 1 stop travel insurance uk. Ride safe.

Thanks Maja, I was with 1stoptravelinsurance before but my 1 year backpacker insurance is finished now and they did not extend it if I don't return to the UK.

navigatortravel is covering big bikes...

havent needed it yet but went with world nomad. australian citizen etc.

i phoned them before i left and asked them to confirm the big bike thing. they said it wasn't mentioned in the policy and was thus ok...

i can renew on the road, and given its an online thing i am 99% sure you can buy once you have started the trip i.e. on the road.

quote is quick, think excl US & japan was 700 AUD for 13 months.

good luck

Also check out DAN (Divers Alert Network) They have several policies - maybe one will suit your needs and they are not expensive at all.

Have a great trip

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
