Travel Insurance Recommend (UK-Based Riders)
As linked via HUBB, I've just bought travel (inc £10m medical) insurance from Alpha Travel Insurance. £62 for 142 days cover (I think the price stands for up to 240 days) worldwide (Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego in my case).
The reason I post is that Alpha don't seem to freak out about biking. They have 2 specific (and very enlightened!) clauses: you must have a full UK licence commensurate with what you're riding, and you must wear a helmet even if it's legal not to do so where you are. I guess this gets rid of claims from the backpackers you see on mopeds in Thailand in their safety flip-flops and T-shirts!
Bravo, Alpha! Beats the £985 I was quoted for the same thing from Insure & Go, my current multi-trip insurers. So I've gone!
