Hi all,
we are planning the next trip from Cameroon to Namibia in November. We intend to get the visa´s beforehand, but we are not sure if we are able to get a double entry visa to Angola in Germany. Therefore I would like to ask if anybody did recently drive the route from Dolisie towards Brazza and then headed south in Mindouli over the border to Congo-Kinshasa to Luozi and furher to Matadi in order to avoid Cabinda? How are the conditions?
Thanks.
Regards
Tobias

Hi,
We are doing the trip from south to north (we are in nigeria now) but have met a few people coming from the north. The route via Cabinda (not going via Brazza) is perfectly feasable and might be the only option. A french couple was not allowed to cross the border to Congo in the east of Gabon, so they had to go to Point Noir. Also the ferry bypassing Cabinda seems to be very unreliable. Cabinda itself is easy going, although one stretch of road is still potholed very much.
Apparantly you can get the Angola double entry visum without much problem in Libreville, but not in Point Noir.
We, travelling the other way, obtained a Cabinda visum in 1 day at the consulate of Matadi.
Good luck

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
