Camping places in Yamoussoukro.
Does anyone know of any places round Yamoussoukro where we can park our camper and use the amenities? I have searched the web and can't find anything.
Ali.

There's nothing as far as I know, you could pitch up outside one of the hotels and ask to stay although I know Hotel President doesn't like this ... try Hotel Le Rocher on a street parallel to the main road south just north of Hotel President. Alie Fe Restaurant/Maquis is on the opposite corner at the bottom of that street!
I will be in touch, mammoth amount of emails here ... I fly back in 3 weeks!

Pity, we'll be in Burkina by then. We want to visit the parks here that are in a reasonable state and do have animals. are there any?
From what I've read they are pretty well pillaged.
Allen.

You could try Parc Nationale de la Comoe which has some wildlife including chimps & elephants. Stay in Nassian and there are guides around.
If you exit CI via Bouna, Doropo and the border at Koguienou into Burkina, it'll take you into the heart of Lobi country. Bouna to Doropo, the Moroccans are slowly getting that road tarred, then from Doropo to Koguienou the road is passable ... You'll hit tar just before Kampti the other side of the border. I've carried onto Banfora via Loropeni, stunning road but probably a little tough going in parts if there's too much rain.
Enjoy CI, let me know if you do head that way!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
