Hello,
Here is the route i did from Lubumbashi to Mbuji Mayi.
I've got NO GPS points, but they are not needed. The Michelin map, with some help from the locals is just fine. There is just one route anyway.
-Lubumbashi, Likasi 120Km Tar.
-Likasi, Kolwezi, 210Km, bad corrugations.
-Kolwezi, Tenke. 80Km, corrugations.
-Tenke, Les Biano. 95Km, soft sand.
-Les Biano, Lubudi. 50Km, mountain piste.
-Lubudi, Bukama. 115Km, difficult mountain piste.
-Bukama, Luabo. 125Km, Steep rocky ascents.
-Luabo, Kamina. 55Km 2meter deep ruts at some points...
There is a nice Catholic mission in Kamina, and a near by military base with a few Belgium troops.
-Kamina, Kaniama. 200Km, sand piste.
-Kaniama, Lubilanji. 18Km, this is where some mud sections begin. It's the border between Kassi and katanga province, so many police and army are on the route.
-Lubilanji, Mwene Ditu. 90Km, piste.
-Mwene Ditu, Mbuji Mayi. 168Km, TAR from the rail station in M.D. to the diamond mines inside Mbuji mayi.
There is petrol, diesel, and cellphone reception in Lubumbashi, Kolwezi, Kamina, and Mbuji mayi.
I'm on the road, so contacts and some pictures will come in a week or two.
Good luck!
Adam.
