Fuel range
Hiya guys and girls, would appreciate some information, what sort of fuel range is necessary doing the western route? to keep it simple, lets say not too far off piste and going the most 'conventional' route. To clarify, using my bmw 800gs i have about 400ks, would this be sufficient between towns/fuel stops? Many thanks

western route... errmmmm ......:confused1: can you be a bit more specific? do you mean the Atlantic Route?
As in from where to where :confused1:
Tarmac / compacted earth/sand? distances?
It's impossible to offer you a helpful reply at the moment.

specifics... nearly!!
Yes, by western route i did mean the 'Atlantic route' and starting from Tangier and ending in Cape Town (god willing!) with many places in the middle!! taking the most direct route as i am a little short on time, 3/4 months for the journey and leaving in a weeks time.
I understand it is a very general question and was more looking for a general answer, ie 400ks will be or may not be sufficient for most legs of the journey?
I will obviously research as i go along about how much fuel i will need to reach my next destination but the question was more about should i try to sort a permanent additional method of carrying fuel on my bike rather than just haphazardly carrying addiitonal fuel as and when required for a specific days riding.
Apologies for the vagueries of my first post (and this one!)
