Guinea, Cote I., Ghana, Burkina Faso Loop
Sitting in here in Western Africa at the beginning of a 6 week Senegal-Mali-Mauritania-Morocco loop and have decided to add another 5 or 6 weeks and head south through Guinea, Cote Ivoire, Ghana, and Burkina concentrating on 1st Ghana and 2nd Cote I.
While I'm running through old posts for suggested itinerary, Visa situations etc. I wanted to post a few questions:
Guinea: Looking at 3-5 days in the Fouta Djalon Region. Labe, Pita, Dalaba sounds good then off to Cote I. by way of Macenta. Any reviews on stopping in Macenta to see Toma? Any feedback on this 3-5 day section appreciated.
Cote I.: Have set aside about 7 or 8 days. Man sounds great esp. with Feb. being Festival season (concerned about earlier post on recent fighting though). Any suggestions here for about 3 days in Man?
More time needed in this region?
..............Transport suggestions south from Man. Would like to go to both Abidjan and Sassandra. Seems Abidjan is most direct but interested if anyone knows of transport to Sassandra to avoid backtracking.
Ghana: Have seen info on bus transport from Elubo to Abidjan leaving on weekday mornings. Assume it also goes in reverse from Abidjan to Elubo, any feedback on times?
Burkina Faso: Least sure of what I'd like to do here in about 5 days time heading south to north (yes I realize I'm gonna toast in Mali eventually)
Looking forward to the day I'll be able to help answer these questions rather than always post.....thanks!
