Insurance, road tax in Nairobi
We've just taken a last minute decision to move our truck from Nairobi into Tanzania and have got tickets for Monday morning. We don't have a lot of time so need to get a move on once there.
One of the first jobs on Tuesday will be to get insurance and road tax - anyone know of an insurance office in the Karen area - and where do I need to get the road tax?
Thanks,
Ian

Hello Ian,
For roadtax for Kenya you can get at TimesTower. Coördinaten S 1 17 25 E36 49 26. This is in the city centre. And there is a traffic jam.
You need a copy of your carnet But only from a blank page with all the details But no import/export stamp. In the building you go not insiders the main door. You can pass to the richt thrue a footpath to an other entrance. You got to the richt all the way to teller 1to 4. There you get a formback and have to pay $50 at the Nationale bank. Als there. When you payd you have to make a copy of the recept. All 3. Cpoies can be made outsider to the richt at the petrolstation. Then back to teller 1 and collectie the roadtax sticker.
Ohhhhhh, there will be big quese in the building. So be prepareren to along waitingtime. Atleast it will Take a few ours.
For the Comesa you can get it at the CIC General insurance at CIC plaza on Mararoad. You also have to buy a 1 month insurance with the comesa. For a LandCruiser it wat about 8000 ksh. Can pay by creditcard.
Hope you can management to do so.
Kind regards and safe Journey.
Tom
