Sudan-Saudi + 72 hour transit visa in Saudi
Hi there
I'm duplicating this in the Middle East forum as it pertains to both.
Just passing on some useful information which I learned from another facebook forum. In late February / early March 2017, a Dutch couple were issued a 72 hour transit visa allowing them (well, the husband anyway) to drive across Saudi to the UAE. The wife travelled with him - but was not allowed to drive of course.
Just a reminder that if you are traveling as a couple but are not married, don't bother trying. Just have the female half of your team fly to UAE or Jordan, and the male half apply for the transit visa ONLY in his name, drive the car there if you are lucky enough to get a visa, and team up again. Non married couples applying will not get past the application stage, don't waste your time (don't shoot the messenger, I'm just telling you how it is, I don't make the rules!)
This is the only time I've heard of a transit visa being issued so you might want to Whatsapp their fixer who made it happen.

They needed some sort of letter from their own Embassy I think.
That's everything I know - other than it took 5 days to issue but that included a weekend. Good luck.
