Togo, Benin, Burkina, Niger on one visum?
At the French ambassie in Bamako I was told this morning that it is possible to get one visum for all these countries in Burkina. They where not very specific on where to get it though.
Anybody knows whether this works and how?
Thanks,
Rob

Take a look at http://www.2africa.nl/index.htm
"Visa Touristic Entente. There is a special visa available, valid for Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin and Niger. It is cheaper and is safes a lot of time. We couldn’t get one, because they postponed the introduction but it is worth to try if it is available (maybe Paris). "
You may be able to contact them for more information on where to get the visa.

embassies in germany and a west-africa specialized tourist agency told me that this visum is not available anymore.
that applies primary to germany, i think - though they told me the whole thing is completely history now.
seems that you just have to try. it's always possible to get each visum alone...

do a search on thi site. A lot has been said about this visa elsewhere already. It is called the visa d'entente. I did get one at the togolese embassy in Burkina Faso, if I remember correctly. Just check elsewhere on this forum.

We bought one in Ghana in february this year, at the Togolese embassy in Accra. Without any hassle, and ready within 2 hours.

Hello,
I got my VTE in October at the Niger embassy in Germany. They said it was just available since summer this year in Europe.
Up to now no problems with it (currently in Benin).
Have fun,
Roland

As the last two contradicting posts show, getting a visa d'entente has more to do with the willingness of the respective embassys than if it actually "still exists" or not. We were offered one from the Niger embassy without even asking for it while in Accra (OK, it was a year ago). But the point is that it does exist and perhaps if the embassys that pretend that it doesn't, are confronted with this fact, they might give up talking BS. Or maybe not!
It wouldn't suprise me if this has to do with money... Seperate visas probably generate more cash to the individual country than the visa d'entente. This is just a guess, but knowing africa...
