Togo-Burkina F.-Mali and back

Hello,
I'm planning a trip end of next year. I'm from Belgium and want to ship my bike to Togo and fly to get the bike. This afther the rain saison in November 2010. Then i have enough time to plane things a bit.
The plan is to ride to Timbouctou and back to Togo and ship my bike back.
I have a friend in Togo who runs a hotel, je will help my (us) to do the paperwork at the customs .

Annyone interested to join ?

Are you the same person who posted a similar plan recently? Or was that on another forum (I'm on the road and can't check)? I responded, but didn't hear more from you.

FWIW, a year and more in the future is pretty speculative in my book. You might get more responses--or more realistic responses--a bit closer to the date.

Hope that helps.

Mark

It is one year from today i know. But in 1 year you have enough time to plan things.
Maybe someone is interested my bike back from ghana to europe somewhere.

And I'll repeat: I responded but didn't hear back from you. I'm in that area frequently, and often riding a bike. I'd like to be kept posted, but I'm not making definitive plans that far ahead. At the moment, I'm headed for South America.

Nothing wrong with planning ahead. I'm just offering one possible explanation for the fact that you're not getting responses. Actually, I'm offering two: the other being the apparent fact that you don't respond when people answer your inquiry.....unless that was someone else entirely, with a remarkably similar scheme.

enjoy,

Mark

This is getting peculiar. First, my apologies if I've offended, which was not my intent.

Second, there was another inquiry, perhaps on another forum, from someone asking for company on a trip starting at that time, leaving and returning to Togo after touring to Timbouktou. If it wasn't you, then there's someone out there in the internet ether whom you might want to talk with.

I responded to that earlier post. I didn't email; I stated my interest in a forum response, same as I have done here. I didn't hear anything in return. This puzzles me, but doesn't concern me unduly.

Hope that clarifies. Safe journeys!

Mark

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
