Visa info for Mali & Burkina

Thought I would let everyone know as I am on my way down through Africa and have had no trouble so far getting visas for Mali and Burkina Faso, arrived midday at both embassies and had the visa issued on the same day by 3 pm. Simple...

Was 10000 CFA at the border, then last summer shot up to 40000. Let's hope it doesn't get worse than that.
I plan to seek out the Benin embassy in Bamako (if there is one?) and ask about the visa d'entente. Five visas in one.

I have seen the Benin Embassy in Bamako but I couldn't tell you exactly where. It was at around the Grand Marche... Marche N. Golonina, Avenue de la Marne or those parts.

At least then there is a Benin embassy in Bko.
Visa d'entente should cost 25000 CFA. Great savings if you're a family.

Early January Burkina visa at the main border with Benin was 94.000 CFA, the same on the main border post with Togo. It is that expensive, so better arrange it elsewhere.

The same time, at the Ouaga airport the visa was 40.000 CFA.
I had multi visa made in French embassy in Warsaw/Poland for c.a. €40.

Burkina Faso visa cost

One month ago a singel visa was 94 000 CFA at the border coming from RIM at kayes and from Hamile, Ghana.
47 000 CFA at the embassy in Bamako. Multiple i don't remember but it did cost more.

Mali at the border: Singel 15 000, double 20 000 CFA.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
