Hey there,
In 2009, I left my KTM 2001 640 Adventure in Ibadan, Nigeria, started my RTW trip with my other bike- the HP2.
The KTM has about 25,000 on the clock, very clean, and comes with a TT tank bag, and TT pannier frame, no panniers minds you.
All was in top shape, but believe it or not, in the last week before the starting of my RTW trip, while I was busy packing all my gear up, some water started to mix with the engine oil- I’m pretty sure it’s just the Water pump seals. Easy fix. The bike is stored in a friend’s house in Ibadan, Nigeria, where I was working before the RTW trip I’m on right now.
I think that in order to fly in, fix the bike, register it on your name, and ride to the sunset, you will need to bring:
1. Water pump seal kit.
2. New battery.
Tires, sprockets, and everything was left in perfect condition, so once fixed, she should take you around Africa.
PM me if you are interested, or have any questions.
Kind regards from Outback Australia,
Adam
