1981 Suzuki TS185 Hard to Start when "cold"
Hello,
I have a 1981 Suzuki TS185. It only has 1500 miles on it and runs great when it is running. It is almost impossible to start when the engine is cold using the kick starter. I am using the choke. I have tried everything from no throttle twists, to one, two, three with and without the choke. No luck.
The bike never even fires when cold until the engine is turned over multiple times by the "bump" start.
I'm almost thinking it has to do with a electrical component, I just am not sure what it might be. If I "bump" or "push" start it, it will fire up (lucky that I live at the top of a hill as it takes quite a few engine revolutions to finally kick off!). It has a new battery, good plug, good carb settings. Once the bike has been warmed up, it will kick start on the first attempt. I was thinking it was some type of stator, magneto, or exciter coil??? Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks in advance!
