TS185K Re-Wring igntion

Hello, this is my first post on the forum., my name is will. So now that we've gotten trough the introductions, lets delve right in.

I have a Suzuki TS185K (1973) With the US & Canada Wiring system that was hot wired at some point. I bought a new ignition and got the Japanese one. The American is responsible for normal running stuff and the lights, while the one got only controls running. Can anyone help me wire the running lights out to a separate switch seeing as though i don't make enough money to get another new ignition?\

I already have a wiring diagram from the factory service manual, but it hasn't really helped me.
I do have access to an electric multimeter.
I do have prior experience with electronics.
I do not have the ability to get the proper ignition.
