Ergonomic | Pain between shoulder blades
Waiting on my Yahama Super Tenere.
Moving from a Yamaha FJR1300. The FJR had MCL Risers. While riding long distances i would get that one point of pain right in between the shoulder blades. No tingling in hands or pain anywhere else. Tried fiddling with the risers. Not much use.
With a different seating position and posture on the SuperTenere, is there anything specific I should look at tweaking to avoid that Shoulder Pain.
(Hoping that it's something to do with ergo settings rather than my shoulders - where I'd need a chiropractor or physiotherapist - $$$$$ )

I'd like to figure this out as well. I have a Vstrom and get the same pain. Funny thing is on my Harley I do not get this pain at all. I *think* it may be being caused by the fact my hands are lower and further forward on the Strom. So I'm going to try some Protaper High Rise bars tilted back a bit to see if that helps.

Ergonomic | Pain between shoulder blades
I used to get this on my Vstrom. Risers helped but did not remove the issue. Switched to an S10 18 months ago and not had the problem at all - must be ergonomics.

I suggest trigger points massage therapy, then learn how to do this by yourself.
We, long distance riders need to know not only how to fix a bike but also our body
Today pain is in the back, tomorrow in you arms or neck.

I am not sure I understand. Why would the tension be there riding one bike but not doing similar riding on another?

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
