Need Battery Tiger 800 XC in Guanajuato
The battery of my Tiger 800XC is dead (un-chargeable)....the bike sat in my hotel lobby for two weeks and when I attempted to start the bike this morning it was dead. Had it charged and it would not hold a charge.....it is dead. I do not speak any useful spanish yet. Tried AutoZone in Guanajuato, they do not carry any moto batteries and they will not get me one. I am not pressed for time but would like to get going again soon. The battery and parts places are pretty much closed for the weekend so I will began looking again Monday morning.
If anyone has any usefull ideas I am all ears. It is a good bet that there is not going to be a battery for the Tiger in Guanajuato. Likely the nearest battery will be in Leon. If I locate a battery in Leon it probably will not find me until Tuesday or Wednesday. Should I order a battery on the internet and have it shipped to my hotel?
Any ideas anyone?

Hi John,
Just looked at the Triumph website for Mexico, nearest dealer will be Euro Moto in Leon as you thought.
Triumph Motorcycles - Localizador de Concesionarios
How old is your bike ? Is it fitted with an alarm ? the battery should not die after 2 weeks parked up, look into the cause and see what is draining the battery - might be worth trying to blag a new one if its still in Warranty.
If you can find someone at the Hotel or ask around to help find someone who speaks English then call them, if they are 100% sure of what you need then you can send them money and they will put a new battery on the next bus.
personally if your Spanish is rough then don't bother buying anything on the internet, you could remove your dead battery (taking it with you) and hop on a bus/collectivo to Leon to find a new one, have a new identical sized/same capacity one in your hand before you part with any cash.
Just checked out your Blog and see bike is a 2012 - ask your Spanish teacher to assist.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
