I've never heard of one being rebuilt.
I'm assuming the seal has gone ??
You would need to know how much and what weight oil is in it and also the seal type and size. And then a good workshop to do the work. Even if they could/would.
The 1200 didn't have a damper when it first came out.
BMW still insist it isn't required.
They fitted them as standard after a few handling issues on the early models. The damper was more of a marketing move and to re-assure customers.
You have a low mileage 2015 model. You must be 'just' out of warranty. I would seriously consider calling BMW customer services and ask them to cover the cost. They are usually quite good like this if you have maintained the bike well. I would push hard.
I work for a BMW dealer, and we often get BMW to cover out of warranty components out of Good Will.
