what tyres can you suggest for winter season?
Need something new for my xt660z tenere as tkc80 are horrible in wet, mud and sand. I guess in snow also, but didn't try yet. Are there any dual sport tyres that can manage mud and sand relatively well? 60-70% off-road would be nice.
thanks

Heidenau K60 or K43 in the Silica based M&S version.

I'll second the K60 for all-weather, all-season, all-terrain use. It's not perfect but for me it's the best compromise you'll get. Lasts forever as well.

thanks, but I don't believe in all seasons tyres unless you live in California
Thread on these tyres doesn't look too aggressive as well as spacing to be honest to deal with muddy conditions well.
Have you ridden them in mud and sand?

I used K60's on the Bonneville on Snow and mud. Worked well. Never really tried sand.

I was looking for a replacement demi-knobbly for my 600 single a few weeks ago to replace a worn out Michelin Dessert and it came down to a straight fight between the K60 and the Mitas E07. I went for the Mitas in the end because ... it was £1 cheaper.
I've not done enough miles on it yet to have formed much of an opinion but I'm off to the Alps on the bike at the end of next week so I guess I'll find out then whether it was the smart choice or an example of penny wise / pound foolish.

I thought the tkc80s were supposed to be good in mud and sand? I picked up a pair of em for my tenere for that exact reason but I haven't fitted them yet.

no, tkc80s are definitely not good in mud and sand. Not even close. I could as well use street tyres instead...
The only thing they're good in is pavement and dry hard pack.
I also got fooled by good reviews written by people who never ridden off-road
