Adventure travel film festival on radio 4

I happened to be listening to BBC radio 4's The film programme this afternoon and up popped Austin Vince talking about the upcoming adventure travel film festival which takes place the weekend after next in Sherborne, Dorset.

Yes, that was an interesting piece. Definitely a persuasive review of the event.

But...... have signed up for the HU Hampshire Mini-Meet!

Never asked this before - to those of you who have seen Austin Vince do a presentation.
He's brilliantly funny when I've seen him - does he remind you of Boris Johnson? (Who can also be funny, perhaps too often!) In appearance as well as style?

(Maybe a question just for those in London).

I've never seen Austin in person, but I have been to a couple of Lois's talks. Have to say I would listen to her over Austin any day

Given Boris's current popularity, I would say the comparison was very complimentary!

Austin's a great talker. Has you in stitches most of the way through but can leave you thoughtful and even sombre by the end. His enthusiasm and genuine belief in travel as a means of meeting people and promoting peace between people and nations is a sight to behold

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
