Here are some useful lines: 69 chat up lines that are GUARANTEED to work| studentbeans.com
Definitely "Chat forum - no useful content required!"
PS. Just read Hornet's post again and see that he calls himself "Peter". So maybe he's a boy. :-) He might however have a sister who just loves good looking mid 40s roughty toughty Adventure biker types. Please attach a picture!

That's right, male dominated not exclusively male hence my post is also in the womans section.
To most rational people it's pretty obvious the original respondent is not female, although clearly it wasn't obvious to you.
It wasn't a valid suggestion,in fact it was entirely useless. In case you weren't aware female adventure motorcyclists are not particularly common so I and several of my female friends thought a post on a site such as this would be a logical place to look.
Thanks for the 69 chat up lines. How did you come by them btw?
Did one of them work for you?

I think you'll find that most of the ladies who visit and/or post on this site are 1). already sorted with regards to their relationships, and 2). very independant in nature and in many cases, no matter what their relationship status is, prefer to travel alone.
I would say you'd be better off seeking an 'adventure virgin' through the normal channels.
My wife, for example, didn't even know she was adventurous when we met but has enjoyed a year long trip to South Africa and many other trips as a pillion.
You can prove me wrong of course, just tell us how many PMs you get - you may just have started something!

Crazy
Why would you want to take a female travel companion
when there is a whole world full of them out there
to meet on your travels..! Bit like going to the beach
and taking your own sand........

Couldn't agree more with Zippo. Why take a woman (or man if that pleases you) who you may or may not get along with on the road. Why do you need or want to take a female companion? Kills the excitement of that chance meeting along the way. Maybe your lacking confidence to do it solo?
And I also agree your more likely to get a response from a normal dating site.
The women on this forum, if single, are independent types looking for info or maybe somebody to ride with. Your clearly after more than that.
Good luck to you but I think your on the wrong site.

The only point I see here is if Pete Grooves and Hornet were correct or too harsh in their 1st comments about pointing a dating site and "mind your own business" answer.
BUT the judgement of asking in the HU Bar if there is any female rider/pillion interested in a trip with Pete IMHO is totally irrelevant, sounds the Inquisition (and I'm Spanish). If anyone is bothered for a middle-age man asking for that (his life & happiness), just don't answer the post.
Not that this is going to become a dating site, but both threads (Stromtrooper and Pete Grooves) received mocking which is pretty unfair.

Singles Section
In an effort to keep the hair splitting to a minimum! (No pun intended)
What I am suggesting is a section for singles, genuine people looking for a companion. Where you throw out a line or 2 with a photo or 2 and why the hell not?
As Pete said “looking for an adventure motorcycling orientated woman on a...umm...oh yes..an adventure motorcycling orientated website” Seems appropriate and quite plausible if not the obvious place to look.
Not everyone wants to go it alone, whatever the reason or your orientation. I don’t think a singles section will turn HU into a dating site, simply another addition to what already is a first class medium for motorcyclists.
Cheers Dave.

Paragraph 1: Very sorry. I'm not rational. Memo to self: Must try harder.
Paragraph 2: No I wasn't aware. Sorry, must try harder with regard to my awareness of many things.
Paragraph 3: I put "chat up lines" into a well know search engine and this is the top hit of 48 million. So they must lead to success(?) Didn't bother reading them myself. Will do right away though.

We're in the bar, for goodness sake. Imagine a bloke walks into a real bar and announces to the predominantly male clientelle he's looking for a woman. What sort of reaction do you think he'd receive? Probably some, in your eyes, unfair mocking. And why should I shut up in the bar?

Oh dear. I'm guessing the recently formed Adventure Bike Rider forum might be more your scene. As others have implied, this isn't a 'biker chicks' forum.

As possibly the first female responding to this thread, good luck to you.
I don't see anything wrong with posting in a forum about this sort of thing but unfortunately as someone has already mentioned, the demographic is not ideal. Female users are in the minority for starters, and of those women, they are usually highly independent and happily doing it on their own anyway, or travelling with partners. But you never know. So, all the best, Pete.

Thanks for one of the more well intended replies and I take your points.
However,it's not the" most ladies who are sorted" my post is intended for.
Most is not all.
Also,I've met several self professed "strong minded, independent" women over the years but when it came down to it not one of them didn't appreciate male travelling companionship at some point.
I think you'll find that unless your privy to "most of the ladies who visit/post on this site" s' thoughts yours is a baseless assumption.
I didn't say I was looking for an "adventure virgin" and this channel is a "normal channel" as by definition to seek an adventure female motorcyclist/pillion this being a motorcycle travellers website complete with a womens section, this would be considered a "normal" place to enquire.
Likewise, enjoyed many years touring with the ex. as well as solo.
Both have their merits.

Men?Speaking for yourself fella?
Women only for me.
Why don't you want to take a like minded female companion with you?
Do you lack confidence with women?
If you get your rocks off hoping for a chance encounter along the way then good for you son,go for it.
After tours in Bosnia,Iraq and two in Afghan.,confidence in solo travel is not something I lack kid.
Just fyi, if I'd wanted a "normal" date then I would of surprise, surprise used a "normal" dating site.
Said it yourself. Some women are looking for someone to do a bit of travelling with.No different from myself.
Thanks for your well intentioned if somewhat naive reply.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
