Hello again and African Wildlife channel
Hi all,
It's been a few years since I checked in here, so hope all of the regulars I remember are all doing well!? A big Ola from Portugal to everybody else too of course!
As a quick catch up: I've been busy....! I was locked down in Namibia for the 1st year of covid, which I must admit was great, and since spent another 6 months in Angola and Botswana.
I got into filming my adventures and wildlife a lot and somehow have amassed 25 Terabytes of 4K footage shot on 5 different cameras.
So this winter I'm starting to wade through it all after a stalled attempt at it last year... I'm still learning how to edit and tell an interesting story, but feedback has been good even though the YouTube algorithm seems to hate me ;-)
Anyway, please feel free to check it out below - happy to receive any feedback or comments as it gets a bit lonesome plugging away week after week editing it all and wondering if anybody finds it interesting...
(Hint: Watch in numerical order so the story makes sense)

Kindly, if you do like it, please share the link as much as you like. I don't use social media so I am hopeless at self promoting myself, and appreciate any help you can offer in this regard
Cheers, Darrin

I enjoyed that. Spectcular landscapes.
I'll have to return to see how the cliffhanger of the sinking LandRover is resolved. And to see all the wildlife up close.

Hi Darrin,
I spent 4 days in Purros from Windhoek to Zim this August and I really enjoyed your Youtube channel.
Purros is a wonderful place to chill and a good place to get supplies being the Manchester Trading shop - the only place I got mobile connection in 2 weeks...
Excellent videos and quality.

Welcome back Darrin, thought you'd died or something!
Good luck with the editing - I always remember our editor for the Achievable Dream series telling us it was at least an hour per finished minute - so don't get discouraged at how long it takes! Also the biggest thing we learned - label / name every little piece REALLY well and don't be afraid to rename it again, with more info - or you'll never find it when you want it.

LOL, no, not yet, working on it day by day ;-p
An hour per minute might be when you have a script to film and edit against as opposed the random filming of a lone nutter in the desert :-)
Please give Susan a hug from me!

Btw Grant, I'm now on 2 wheels when in Europe - only an ebike but 32kmph is enough to kill myself on given the roads where I live ;-)
Loving it, got rid of the car, just cycle and power myself everywhere...

Really enjoying your videos, very nice viewing in contrast to the typical adrenaline sport overland / 4x4 content on YouTube!.
I spent a while in Namibia in 2010 including Purros. Beautiful part of the world that I haven't though about a lot recently, but lovely to reminisce with the help of your vidoes. Looking forward to what comes next.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
