How The Corporate Ladder Stole my Bike Adventure...
Its a fact of life, that we all have to work, to earn money, to feed our lifestyle choices.
Its really depressing though - when work becomes an obstacle, rather than a stepping stone, to pursue our passions...
My lovely biking partner Gigi, has just become the latest victim of the US mortgage crisis.
In a climate of redundancies at the american banks we work for - she has decided to ditch our upcoming trip... in the hope of "securing" her position on the corporate ladder.
I'm gutted. However - will probably continue without her, regardless. (I think... )
There are two paid for, XT600s in South Africa, waiting. A contingent of 4x4s scheduled as support on the route. Possibly a discounted flight ticket.
If anyone is free in April, not chained to the Corporate Ladder and fancy a desert adventure... shout.
Details are posted in the 'Seeking Travellers' forum.

The yearning is huge....
I'm sorry to hear that: both for you and your original biking partner, but it could not have been an easy decision for her to reach...
Personally, I'd love the opportunity, but cursed timetables and semesters say otherwise. More of an educational ladder....
I hope you find a good substitute travelling buddy: its going to be a fabulous experience for all involved.
If there was a "smilie" for blind, raging, green-eyed envy, I'd be inserting it forewith!!!! Repeatedly!
Good luck!

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
