IMHO, this thread has no real value but it goes on and on....
And here is my take on it and why.
The screenshots are self explanatory for just London, UK yet, despite this, gov. site reports "it is forecast that international visits to London will grow over 260% to 11.2 million arrivals in 2022. This growth equates to an additional 8,121,000 arrivals compared to 2021.
Any single act of violence/suffering/kidnapping etc is, of course, terrible and unacceptable but perhaps we really should bear the figures above for a single city before sustained, ad nauseatum, scaremongering postings discussing how safe anywhere really is.
Safety is an illusion- I live in London and, despite massive police resources, £15 billion according to gov site, homicides average out at [B][U]14.5 deaths per million people but I still travel there to do stuff.
So how does that sit with travel security and a few kidnappings which seldom appear to be random? Life is a massive risk - and it usually starts with the womans' choice of mate and steadily progresses with our life choices such as motorcyclig/travelling etc etc. Get over it- (and this thread torturing electrons unnecessarily )
