Is this travel plan feasable?
Hello new friends afflicted by wanderlust,
This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a few months picking up bits of useful information and planning my great escape. I've been wanting to do this for a long while now, just get my things and leave on an adventure with no place specifically to go and no return date in mind.
I draw $1k a month for going to college full time and it's paid for (benefits of being a Sgt. Majors son). If I switch to online classes, make stops for wifi to get courses done on the road, use WWOOF and couch surfing for free housing, and only have to spend money for food, gas, bike maintenance, insurance, traveling fees, and the occasional hotel/hostel, would a grand a month be enough to cover expenses?
I'm also about to get my degree in Computer Support (hardware/software installation, computer maintenance and repair, etc). Would this be of use on the road? Is it possible to make a nice supplemental income fixing computers or even buying/selling on ebay (which I've had good luck in the past buying and fixing, then reselling).
Edit: Guess I should have mentioned. I also plan on selling my car and buying a street/dirt again so I won't have limits and can venture wherever I like. This will give me a few extra thousand to start off with for this journey.
