We chose a middle route - we're lucky enough to have jobs that are flexible, so we chose the expat life. That way we get to satisfy the "new experiences" urges, and explore our new country and the countries around it, but the kids have some stability in schooling and we have an income that lets us do "fly in/fly out" travels (renting a vehicle in-country).
