Motorcycle Audiable books

Hi Guys,

Thought Id bite the bullet and join, after many years of listening to ARR and ARR Raw.

Anyway, I really need a new motorcycle adventure book to listen to. I have looked at the book thread, and there are a few in there, but there is a lot of non-MC-related books. Also, I need to be able to listen to in audible format.

Can anyone recommend any please? so far I have listened to all of these.

All Sam Manicoms
All Graham Fields
Lone Rider
Going the wrong way - Chris Donaldson
Tales OF Jupiter
Memories of Jupiter (current)

There is one bike I want to listen too, but I cant remember it, I know its a female rider from Canada I believe, she tried the trip twice, as the 1st time she crashed like an hour from home and broke her leg in a ditch!

She was on ARR last year I think.

But anything MC travel-related would be great.

Thanks.

PS I currently own a few bikes, My main travel bike is a Honda ST1100 Pan European, which I hope to ride to Prypiat, a Honda CB350 Twin. I am also rebuilding a Yamaha FZR600 to race.

Try WhisperSync

I can strongly recommend the audiobooks from Graham Field (Different Natures was my favorite) and Sam Manicom (starting with Into Africa).

I found that their personal narration of their own stories added a lot. You can hear the emotion as they relive their stories in the retelling.

I also am a big fan of Amazon's Whispersync. That allows you to get the audible book along with the kindle version (which I read on my iPad or iPhone). Those two will then sync to your last reading/listening point. So if you stop reading at a certain point and then listen via audible - it will pick up where you left off reading. And vice-versa.

Little known fact: On the Amazon site it is often cheaper to buy the Kindle book and select "add Audible narration" than it is to buy the Audible book on its own. Just checked "Out of Africa" pricing. Amazon price for Kindle version with Audible narration = $17.48. Audble.com price for just narration = $25.65.

Enjoy!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
