The Bear Glacier
For months, maybe years, I’ve meant to thank Grant for the continuing series of great photos. Today there’s a new one, of “The Bear Glaciers.”
I’ve been to the Bear Glacier (singular, as far as I know) many times in the last 30+ years. I’ve watched the toe of the glacier downwaste and recede from where it formerly touched the meltwater lake across which it’s viewed from the parking lot.
The photo shows no lake and no outflow stream—just a parking lot, the glacier, and a tiny trickle of meltwater. Is this an angle I never found in my own photos? Or is it photoshopped for effect? I’m open to other explanations, too, whether divinely-inspired or otherwise.
