Sell the lot tell the boss (optional) and hit the road
G'day thrill seekers,
After a bit of time off (mid life crisis) a new bike (HP2 Enduro) 2 trips to Europe 10,000 K's riding from Madrid to Vienna via the Alps back through Bavaria then north from Hidelberg to Rostock following the east west German border.
I have decided (know all along) to part with the lot, Job house, car, bike, furniture, gona have to keep the tools though. I want to do this on a pepetual basis. No wife, kids, bloody dog carked it and left no off spring either !
Now,
Who else is on this path ?
How best did you manage the funds ?
Which direction first ?

Well done, a good start, but we need a little more information such exactly when you are off and some idea of what you want to do, a RTW trip or somewhere more specific?
This time of year you could ship to South Africa and start from there or just cross the Timor sea to Indonesia or Singapore and head off through SE Asia from there or now is a good time for south America, you could catch a few other travellers in Ushuaia at Christmas, the world is your oyster.

G'day Mark,
All I have done so far is make the desision to do it and start advertising the goods. Big enough leap for one day and I imagine it will be xmas before anything happens. If so it will be winter in Europe, southern USA would be a good start, a new bike, heading west and south to Mexico and further south from there.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
