I have had relatively few bikes - five including my original Kawasaki KH125, but excluding my BSA Starfire that I never heard run - that I have to say they all put smiles on my face but the Moto Guzzi I have now brings a huge smile to my face and it is so relaxing to ride. The BMW R80 sat alongside it in the garage got me back onto two wheels but it is not so relaxing to ride, but I still smile when I ride it.

Early morning towards the end of the Lands End Trial.
Somewhere near Perranporth, about 8 or 10 hours overnight from west London by way of lots of off-road tracks.
My Greeves 'bitsa', mainly Greeves Scottish, with silver-soldered home-made exhaust and plasticine-waterproofed electrics, was always brilliant fun.
Great picture, looks like Blue Hills one of the last sections of the Land's End. Ridden it many times but not on my Greeves - yet.

I can confirm that the pint in the hotel bar after the finish does indeed go down very well

The bike (H1) had the potential to be exceedingly fast. It could easily lift the front wheel with a simple twist of the wrist. I experienced this and the speed a few times. Great potential for speed but brakes did not have the potential to stop the bike. A very light frame flexed under cornering load. Both caused me to ride within a safety envelope. Still loved the bike - the design and the two stroke sound and power.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
