I enjoyed your response xfiltrate and do see we have kindred spirits. The whole thing with nescafe is something perplexing to me. I was in Peru for a couple of months teaching blacksmithing techniques to the locals via a program started by Aceros Arequipa. During that time, I was served Nescafe every morning and I always wondered why serve instant coffee when there is Real coffee being grown in several countries is SA?
I want to thank you for the tip in traveling from Ayacucho to Albanque and then up to Cusco. My biggest question right now is dealing with the logistics of shipping my old 1982 Goldwing with trailer to SA and driving it throughout the country.
I posted a picture of the bike and trailer in the Which Bike forum and have had a few responses which are not conducive to the idea of taking this older touring bike. Maybe you could take a look and tell me if I would be okay riding this bike in the "very rural" area you are describing? If you do respond, please post your response on that thread due to the fact it has little to do with 2012.
