Trip France to Scotland. some numbers

Wife and I just toured Scotland, Took our cooking gear and sleeping bags just in case but stayed at hotels.. thing is we did 2,318 miles and averaged 73mpg.
In the Uk diesel was around £1.12p per litre and in France 1.05 Euros.

I have to say we were blessed with good weather for teh whole 11 days and it would have been great on a bike,, but two up???

When I ride equipped for camping alone, bike is pretty well loaded. leastwise no room for a pillion rider. this trip was done in our little Citroen C3 that was meant to be the wifes' shopping car

so heating, air con all at more mpg than the triumph .

Don't think the trip would have been possible on a bike.. I take the view I would rather go by car than stay at home. even to a bike rally.

Why not, given that it turned out you didn't need to camp? I'm assuming that carrying the extra gear is the problem when you are two up.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
