The following assumes you're a US resident, although you don't say one way or the other.
Buy insurance. The exact process differs from state to state, but if you're a resident you can do it. Choose a plan which suits you. Follow the directions.
If you wait another week (after Feb. 15th) you won't be able to buy in the usual way. After that it might be more expensive or unavailable, depending.
It's expensive only if you don't need medical care (i.e., if you need medical care you'll wish you had insurance to pay for it). Make your choice wisely. And....if you can't figure out how to buy insurance, the trip itself might prove beyond your capabilities. Seriously. If you need help, look for a broker.
