What Makes a Good Group Multi-Day Guided Single Track Tour?
The most people I’ve ever ridden off road with at once is two others (until one ran out of gas). But in lots of places I’ve ridden solo including Bali, Cape York, West Malaysia, Thailand) I’ve seen packs of riders on all kinds of bikes from 250 - 690 cc. Average size of pack maybe 10 riders but as many as 40 on the way to Cape York.
For people that enjoy riding mostly off-road in organised packs like this what are the kinds of things that separate a five star operation you’d recommend to everyone from the clowns who should be in jail in the name of public safety or the jokers just pocketing your money taking you down that track that the whole world knows about?
I’ll confess this post prompted by increasingly regular thoughts that such a business might be worthwhile in places I’ve ridden through in the last year in Asia and Europe. But it’s also just spitballing while I wait for my broken ankle to harden up a little bit more.
