Talking of perspective. I've recently been browsing through a copy of: Around the World on a Motorcycle, 1928 to 1936 - by Zoltan Sulkowsky



A real ground-breaking adventure back in those days, surely? .. especially on a (between wars) m/c combination. Before any motorcycle overlanding 'Golden Age'.

I guess its subjective.Better times does not mean better trips.

The old addage, If I was 22 and knew what I knew now.......

I was lucky enough to ride up, down, up and across the USA last may/June, for 8500 miles in 31 days. Lucky because Bennetts Bike Insurance paid for it. (Biker Dreams).
Despite having a GSa here in the UK, I doubt I would have chosen the USA for such a big self financed trip. I am glad I went, and really enjoyed it, it has changed my life and made further long trips even more of a Bucket List'er. (Choices would include a re-run as the states was really good, and very big).

I would go NOW, if i had the budget and the MRS SAID YES (optional). One thing is certain peeps.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
