Croatia , Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Greece, Kosovo
I am planning a 2 week trip in September starting in Dubrovnik Croatia. I plan to head through a few Balkan countries. Any recommendations on places to go and experience with border crossings. I am hiring a bike locally.

Hi,
Short suggestion as I'm bad with time:
Dubrovnik-Ston-Orebic-Trpanj-Ferry to Ploce
Ploce-coasta ride to SPlit- ferry to Hvar-back to mainland again-Zadar-Plitvice lakes national park-Bihac +Zeljava airbase-Jajce-Travnik-Sarajevo
Sarajevo-Foca-Zabljak-Durmitor-Rijeka Crnojevica-Skadar lake-Tirana-Elbasan-lake Ohrid
Greece-loads to ride, maybe I would keep it out of this trip at all, up to you for sure.
If you need any support in Balkans and Croatia you can check our website www.lobagola.com; www-lobagola-mototours.com or email us at borderinsurance@lobagola.com
As for border crossings, simple and easy.
Have fun
cheers

For Albania most people enjoy the ride up to Theth and back. (you can make a round but that is quite rocky offroading!)
And the Llogara pass from North to South. Which leads to some beaches.

Kosovo to Serbia
I did the trip through those countries last year from UK, through to Bulgaria and returned through Romania and Poland etc. No passing through to Serbia from Kosovo at the border unless you have a resident permit or similar. They sent me south to Albania rather than go back through Croatia to enter.
Montenegro is a must see.

I am from Croatia, and I would recommend you to drive through Velebit on old roads that were built in early 1830s, and it connected south and north of Croatia for some time , check these videos here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sJ5KITBfzo
you have gps track in the description of video.
also check this video from 1:00:

This video is showing part of that location also:

Velebit is full of old gravel roads, with beautiful scenery and views. One of the most beautiful places in Croatia for me.
If you need need more info about this, do not hesitate to ask
