Camping equipment (Santiago, Chile)
Well, I get robbed, someone gets a good deal! Yep, finally had "the big one" happen to me after years of nothing major happening. Day pack stolen while on a bus in north Chile, computer, iphone, camera, external drive, and $1500 in cash. That last one hurts the most as insurance won't cover most of that.
And all on my birthday.
Now back in Santiago sorting out passport, buying computer (work) ...etc. Anyway, all this has resulted in me changing plans somewhat, so I have the following for sale:
Tent: Paid $200, sell for $100
Azteq Nepal Carpa Azteq Profesional Nepal - Todo-Outdoors.cl
Very good tent from Brazil, probably the best you'll buy in South America before imports at double the price. Very good waterproof rating (which was a big concern of mine after a previous not so good tent). I have not used this at all.
Self-inflating sleeping mat: Paid $40, sell $20.
"Nexxt" brand, used just a couple of times, looks new, with cover and puncture repair kit.
Doite camping stove: Paid $35, sell $15.
DOITE Outdoor. Bienvenido
Never used. Will also throw in never opened gas canister.
Drop me an email if interested.
Cheers.

Okay, still available, but am leaving Santiago tomorrow night. Will be in San Pedro de Atacama for a few days, and then across into Bolivia for a few weeks, before hitting Peru. I will be carrying this gear until I sell it, so if anyone is interested and will cross paths then let me know.
Cheers.

That sucks!
How did it happen? Always good to learn how things like this happen even to experienced travellers.
Good luck for the rest of your trip.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
