Wanted Klr 650 Large Tank And Centre Stand U.K.

Hi
I’m looking for an IMS fuel tank or something bigger than stock to fit a 96 KLR 650, also if anyone happens to have a centre stand or windscreen/windshield that would fit I would be very interested. I have just purchased the bike and want to spend the winter getting it ready for a long trip east. I don’t mind paying overseas postage if the overall price is right. I know the chances are slim but if you don’t ask ya don’t get. You can mail me at. megaflid at hot mail dot com. Cheers

Large Klr tank

Flid, ive just kitted out a Klr. I ended up buying a new Ims tank from America. If you have a UK model c Klr the seat will no longer fit. The tank fits on,no worries there. I made a new seat base and covered it. W E Moto sell a centre stand that fits and works. Hepco & Becker manufacture a pannier rack, The Touring Biker can supply. Modify the balance chain adjuster and you are good to go. Can send photos if you want. Cheers

Andy.

Thanks Andy
Yes, I have the UK model, Didnt relize about the seat not fitting I would be interested to see how you remodeled/made a new one. The bike came with a good pannier rack which mounts on pillion peg mounts, its a nice bit of kit, still got to get panniers. So if i got a used US spec seat would that fit on a Uk C model?
Look forward to seeing some photos.
Cheers, Flid

Klr seat

The American model A has a lower subframe and different seat. Im not sure, but the Klr Tengai sold here in the Uk is the same as the A model. You could change the subframe but your pannier system that you have will not fit. Ill send you some photos. Cheers Andy.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
